We've been learning about analogies this week, and there were some great ones written! Here are a few examples. The assignment (obviously) was to begin with, "Teachers are like..."
Ana: A teacher is a lighthouse, guiding you to the shore of education. A teacher is a lighthouse because if you are off the chart, they put you in place. A teacher is a lighthouse. They stand strong against nasty weather and students.
Caelan:
Teachers are like permanent markers because they make a memory on your life. They teach you things you didn't know. They are so much fun to be with, and they do fun activitie and work with you. They make a mark on your life. Teachers are like permanent markers because they make a memory on your life.
Mika:
Teachers are like permanent markers. They make a mark that lasts forever on yu. There are many varieties of each. Some markers are just like all the others; some are unique. They both draw a picture - the marker on paper, the teacher in your mind. Teachers are like permanent markers.
Elijah:
A teacher is like a mechanic. A mechanic always has something to fix on a car, and the teacher has something to fix for a student. Each car has something different that needs fixing, just like each student. A teacher is like a mechanic.
Sydney:
A teacher is like a computer. They are sort of alike because they are both chock full of information. Both of them sometimes put you on hold, but the computer always gets back to you when you're online, and the teacher when you're IN line. They both present facts to you in an orderly way, and the teacher and the computer give you easy directions to understand. A teacher is like a computer.
